Information design is a problem solving and visual communication activity in constant flux. InformForm is a platform for information design thinking, a participatory framework for reflection on important topics within this field. We believe information design is not the superfluously beautification of information. There should be a reason or purpose to give form and graphically represent content.
InformForm’s objective is to consolidate a large amount of resources and references on information design in one useful place. The site includes an extensive technical glossary as well as a pictorial map archive. In the Articles section you will find interviews with professional practitioners, a showcase of excellent student work as well as writing on the research and design considerations within information design education.
InformForm is keen to expand as an international framework and to collaborate with students, tutors and professional practitioners alike all over the world. We have presented at conferences such as Visualized and IDA and worked together with students and tutors from Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, LUCA School of Arts Brussels, Manchester School of Art, New Design University Sankt Pölten, Tsinghua University Beijing, University for the Creative Arts, University of Chester, University of Northampton, University of Portsmouth, University of the West of England and Winchester School of Art.
